We are looking for a Specialist Rheumatologist to join our team of experienced Physicians, Specialist Nurses and Allied Health staff with a focus on the delivery of high quality specialist care to the growing population across the Bay of Plenty.
We are wanting to recruit a Physician who is keen to participate with us in developing responsive ways of meeting the needs of our growing population. This role is suited to someone who is enthusiastic around service improvement and working in new ways as part of a multidisciplinary team.
This role will be backfilling a current Physician who is working towards retirement and currently does not participate in acute medical cover – however we will work with the ideal candidate to develop a role which best suits their professional preferences and career options.
The ideal candidate would also have the skills to foster a learning culture across undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff, with the support of the BOP clinical school and the University of Auckland. The school also provides clinical research opportunities.
Applicants must hold or be eligible for vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council or be training in New Zealand and with nine months or less of advanced training remaining to achieve FRACP.
Our team actively encourage work life balance and the Bay of Plenty is ideally situated for those who like to work, rest and play – beautiful beaches, stunning scenery, excellent schools and a vibrant social city culture.
The Bay of Plenty District Health Board is committed to our Te Toi Ahorangi vision of equitable services and health outcomes for Màori. To meet this vision the ideal candidate will have experience in working in a culturally diverse setting and proven skills in contributing to services which have evolved to meet the needs of patients, whànau/family and the wider community through an integrated service model of care.
Our values of Compassion, All-one-team, Responsive and Excellence are at the centre of everything we do. We are looking for someone who demonstrates, exudes and embeds behaviours consistent with our Manaakitanga values as well as the above skills and experience.
